Our buffalo grass has tasseled. That's a sure sign of the end of summer and the beginning of fall.
That's not all. Here are the other signs that I've seen this week.
- Hot cocoa in the morning.
- Needing a jacket before heading out the door.
- Closing windows before going to bed.
- Wearing socks...yes, the flip flops are in the closet.
- Seeing pumpkins and mums everywhere.
I hope to purchase some pumpkins and mums this weekend and do a bit of decorating at our front door. Check out the cute pumpkin decorations that Amy did for her front step.
Will you be doing some outdoor fall decorating?

well, some in Seattle (not me!) wear sandals and socks all winter long.
Today I'm going to harvest my pumpkins.. well what's left of them after the deer got to them.
I just wrote about saying good-bye to summer. I'm with you it's time to turn the page to fall... pumpkins, soups and sweatshirts.
I haven't pulled out my socks yet. That seems to be my last holdout this year. Otherwise, I am completely ready for fall!
It's still at least 80 degrees here every day. Maybe by the end of October I'll be able to enjoy cool fall days. I always think our seasons are off in Texas.
