When?

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Do you know?
It doesn't need to be something big or something hard. It could be something very easy.
~try a new food ~ wear a new lip color~ a new hair cut ~ paint your bedroom walls with color ~ a new hobby ~ ride a bike ~ learn to swim ~ plant a garden ~
The possibilities are endless.
As children, we have to do everything for a first time at some point. Even our teen and early adult years are filled with firsts. What happens to us as adults? Do we lose our sense of adventure? Find ourself in a rut? Are we afraid of failure?
Think about it today. I will be.

This post brought tears to my eyes...you are so right. I remember thinking, after my 25th birthday, "well, that was it". But...it's not. There's more. And I believe God's got me in a place of getting ready for another "first"...and I'm really excited to see what it is. In the meantime...mayeb I'll think on making my own first...like that new wall color you mention. I've been threatening to paint my room for a year!

Thanks for the food for thought...and now I'll go see if I can remember how to use the scanner and share that photo with you!

Oh...and Water for Elephants...my mom loaned it to me and I have yet to read it. I think I'll put that on my summer reading list! Thanks! I'm telling you...you hit the nail on the head with this post!

well, soon every day will be a first for me. First time to sleep in, first time to not have to drive 20 minutes to work, first to be home with kids during the summer, first to start my own business. how's that for starters?

This is such a lovely post.
~ I started keeping chickens for the first time last month. Have no idea what I am doing. Been scratched, pecked, had eggs with NO shells, but every last bit of it has been wonderful!
~ Drove a rototiller for the first time last week too. Didn't even kill one plant - HA!
~Now you've got me thinking...!!
