It's early for a Saturday. I'm the only one awake. Enjoying the quiet and the simple beauty of our white lights on my favorite decoration display in the house.
For years I collected snowmen and trees. This year they have found a home together atop the Baldwin 1919 Grand Piano my father bought for me in 1971.
As I sit in quiet, it's a perfect opportunity to reflect on the events and blessings of 2009 as well ponder what lies ahead in the new year. I plan to spend the remaining days of 2009 focused on time with family and friends, enjoying each other's company, laughter and creating new memories together. I also hope to carve out a bit of time to finish a list I started a few days ago; a list that includes books for reading in 2010 and goals for self and family.
May you and yours find a moment of peaceful quiet during the busy-ness of the next week. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

is it bad if my favorite time of day is when I am awake and everyone else is asleep? not that I don't love them, i just need that time alone.
i'm glad you are enjoying your time. i hope you will share your goals. it sure was fun to meet you in 2009! maybe we will meet again in 2010.

Beautiful...I love that time of day. It's my favorite. Have a blessed day...xox
Wishing you a most Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I love twinkle lights in the dark. Nothing better..
Merry Christmas to you and your family Nancy. Enjoy the family time.
I love snowmen too, there is something about those little button eyes and a carrot nose that gets me everytime.
