vintage fire king

While I was having a little 'looksee' at Mom's, I also found this beauty in her basement. I brought it home and now I'm one step closer to eliminating the plastic. I can't wait to use it. It will be perfect for baking a casserole or side dish and the lid makes it easy for storage in the fridge. It's a vintage Anchor Hocking Fire King 9" Casserole dish with lid. Pattern is Candleglow.

Do you have any vintage bakeware? I think I'm going to try and scout out some other pieces.

Now I'm wondering why I've never picked any of these things up when I've seen them at garage sales and thrift stores! My poorman's tupperware (Cool Whip, cottage cheese, sour cream, etc. containers) are kinda nice for when something gets left in the fridge too long and becomes a science experiment though. I don't fret over tossing the whole thing, container and all, in the trash. This becomes a bigger deal when you don't have a garbage disposal, I think. I'm going to keep my eye out for these glass containers now, though.

that one is awesome. love it. we are still struggling with plastic and lunches. sometimes joe will take things (soup) in a jar but I don't trust the kids with glass.

oh, chalkboard paint is easy to work with and quite fun! Josh has one wall in his room that is chalkboard.

have a good weekend.

Its just beautiful! Be careful about the dishwasher though- my DH and kids ruined some lovely bowls by putting them in the dishwasher.

NICE! I picked up two small enamel bake pans yesterday (no chips) for $7 at an antique store. Can't wait to try them out!

Oh, it is soooo pretty! I love, love, love vintage bake ware. I always keep my eyes peeled when I am at Goodwill for new pieces to add to our collection. I use my Pyrex a lot too!
