take it slow

I took this picture while we were on the lake Saturday night. To me, this image is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the days of summer. The days are speeding by. The warm air, the summer sun, the singing of the locust will be behind us all too soon. My goal for the next several weeks is to find the pleasure in each day. Sit a little longer. Have another glass of limeade. Walk barefoot. Get on the water again. Lounge by the pool. Read another book. Enjoy a glass of wine. Watch the sunset. Sit under the stars.

If I'm not here for a while, it's because I've slowed down. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

July went by way too fast. Our family will try to do something near some water in August to make it feel like summertime...and hopefully make the summer last...before the craziness of the new school year!

I heartily agree. We become a slave to the school schedule in TWO weeks.

Think I'll go find my mourning clothes and sit in a pile of ashes. Or just enjoy the little things that you mentioned. :)

So glad to hear you are taking time in the slow lane. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy this last month of summer. Savor it. Winter just seems to hang around a bit too long. I am not quite ready for it yet... xo
