Brownies are a favorite at our house.
I've conducted taste tests unbeknownest to anyone else.
Homemade - too sweet.
Store brand - too dry.
Name brand box mix - just right.
This weekend, I did it again. Another taste test.
Substitute equal amount of brewed coffee for the water. Mix according to box directions.
Mmmm. And no one is wiser. Gives the brownies more of a dark chocolate taste. A fuller, richer taste.
I'll be doing this again and no one will ever know.

i LOVE adding coffee to chocolate! yum. somehow it does bring out the chocolate-y taste more. and i have a soft spot for the ghiardelli mix :)

My three year old son, and I are avid Barefoot Contessa fans....One of her main enhancers of chocolate is Coffee....I play around with the quantity, and use instant coffee or espresso....
I think I'll make some today.
