Menu Plan Monday #27

It's too hot to cook or eat. As I'm writing this it is 9:15pm and 92 degrees. I don't even want to know how hot it was when the sun was out. I can guarantee you it was over 100. We have heat adviseries in effect until tomorrow night.

I have no motivation to figure out what to feed my family this week. I don't think anyone would care if I'd tell them they were on their own for the entire week. They're like me, they just want to find a cool place to sit and do nothing. If you're looking for me, check under a ceiling fan.

I wasn't kidding when I said I have no idea what we'll be eating this week. I did make some really good (almost) instant ice cream this weekend. You can read about it here. Maybe we'll have the rest of it for dinner tomorrow night. At least it's cold and refreshing.

I have plenty of food in the house but it all requires preparation to some degree. I just can't bring myself to turn anything on that produces heat. How about a diet of cold liquids for a week? What do the rest of you do when it's this hot? Do you cook? Please tell me no so I don't feel guilty.

I hope a cold front moves through before next week. If it's not this hot where you live, go on over to Laura's to see what everyone else is having.

I know exactly how you feel, but sadly my kids continue to demand food :)

Breakfast food is always good. And avocados- I read someplace that they are nature’s perfect food, so I think they count as a meal.

Sis,
Throw it out on the grill. Everything can be cooked out there. I know it is hot but put the grill in the shade and go for it. We cook meat, vegies, bread, you name it goes out there in the summer. If I could just figure out cookies on the grill and mind you, we have tried it. HA! HA! Try to stay cool and ice cream is a dairy so it is part of the food groups!!!

Oh, it is that hot here, too. These record-high temps are awful!

Eggs are good... and lots of fruit & veggies! :)
Blessings,
Michele
