it's beginning to look a lot like fall

I mixed up a taste of fall (and Halloween) this weekend -- a trail mix of sorts -- candy corn, Reese's pieces and peanuts. Kind of makes me want to get into the spirit of the season. Mums. Gourds. Pumpkins. Mr. Skeleton on my door. Halloween costumes.  It's all right around the corner.  I'm hoping to add mums and pumpkins to my front porch this week. Lawman even suggested a pot of chili should make an appearance on our menu very soon.

That candy mix sounds great. I wish fall were coming faster! It is still in the 90s in South Louisiana.

Love the new header, Nanc! I want fall to be here, and the nights are cooling off - but with the forecast of 90 degree weather for a good part of this week, I think Mother Nature is reminding us that it's still summer! Tell Dale that the chili's gonna have to wait!!

fun trail mix! I went to the farmer's market this weekend and went nuts over all the gorgeous pumkins and indian corn scattered everywhere. Chili sounds fantastic.

that trail mix looks great! I may have to "borrow" that idea! Looks like we are on the same wave length!

I almost bought a mini-hay bale at Walmart the other day. But then I remembered the nursery that sells the big ones for the SAME prices so I'm holding out for a few more weeks. I did put my pumpkin Welcome sign on my door though. Now if the fall weather would come back I'd be all set. :)
